Carol BassettVice President
I’m Carol and I’ve been with BARONS since 1969, back when BARONS only had three full time workers—both of the owners, Bart Heller and Ronnie Goodstein and me. Gold was $36.00 an ounce and aside from jewelry BARONS also carried wallets, glassware and BARONS' own brand of watches called LeMonique. The store was carpeted in bright orange shag and we did not lock any of our jewelry cases. As time went on, BARONS grew to have five stores with as many as 65 employees. I’ve been fortunate to be a part of BARONS and the evolution of this company over the years.
One thing I’ve learned, more than anything, is BARONS was built on solid relationships. From our clients to our many vendors, BARONS has established a trustworthy, loyal and truly caring partnership. BARONS is more than just a job to me, I am proud to be an active part of this company. I have made many lifelong friendships throughout the years here at BARONS.
My husband is even involved, he makes the dough for our cookies that we serve from 12 to 6pm daily. I have been married for over 40 years and have two great kids and grandkids. We raised our family in the Tri-Valley area, involved in many sports but especially soccer. My hobbies today include refinishing furniture and making mosaics ‘picassiette’ out of pottery and broken objects. Our jobs, families and other interests keep us pretty busy.
